Gig Harbor Lacrosse Scholarship

The Gig Harbor Lacrosse Scholarship is available to families in need of financial aid to have their children participate in lacrosse. Gig Harbor Lacrosse may offer up to 4 scholarships per spring season to cover all, or a portion, of a player's registration fee.

Requirements

Any player eligible to play in one of the following three divisions may apply: Boys High School, Boys Youth, Girls Youth.

Player resides within the Gig Harbor Lacrosse catchment area and is eligible to play for Gig Harbor Lacrosse during the spring season.

Player is in 3^rd though 12^th grade.

Player must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and must submit his/her most current report card.

Scholarship funds must be put toward the registration fee for the current spring season.

Acceptance of the scholarship requires 10 hours of volunteer work with the club/team.**

Applications and the applicant's most current report card must be submitted to [email protected] by no later than January 15^th.  Scholarship requests will be reviewed by the Gig Harbor Lacrosse Association Board of Directors and applicants will be notified of the board's decision by Jan 31^st.

**Failure to comply with these requirements may result in forfeiture of the scholarship funds and being denied participation in the Gig Harbor Lacrosse Scholarship program in the future.

Lacrosse Referee/Official Scholarship Application

Scholarship Value $75

Scholarship Requirements:

The applicant must meet the following requirements to be considered for the scholarship:

- Open to girls and boys youth referee/official.

- First year referee/official for the 2023 Spring.

- Must officiate five youth lacrosse games during the 2023 Spring Season. 

- Applicant must attend Gig Harbor High School, live within the Gig Harbor High School catchment area and/or play on the Girls PSD High School Lacrosse Team.

- Applicant must personally complete and return the application by February 1st 2023.  Return to [email protected]

- Scholarship is to help pay for referee/official education classes and/or referee/official uniform.  Scholarship recipient will be reimbursed up to $75 upon submission of receipts to Gig Harbor Lacrosse Board.

- Up to 6 Scholarships being offered in total

            -Why you would make a good referee/official?

The letter of recommendation needs to be from someone who knows you well.  They may not be a member of your family.

How is the scholarship awarded:

On or after February 2, 2023 a selection committee will review the applications and award the scholarships by February 9, 2023.  The selection committee will be comprised of three members of the Gig Harbor Lacrosse Board.  The members of the selection committee will not be related to any of the scholarship applicants.
