Boys High School Alumni Game Info

The boys high school team Alumni Game, an event in which the current high school team faces off against returning alumni in a friendly scrimmage, was first hosted in 2018. The event was an immediate success with increasing numbers of alumni and their families attending subsequent games in 2022 and 2023.

Traditionally, the event has been held on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Assuming the event will be held in 2024, the date would be 11/27 at 7:00 PM, Gig Harbor High School turf field #1.

As we have been planning for a 2024 event, we have become more mindful of the insurance implications for the event, liability insurance and accidental injury. As we have explored numerous options, the Board and Program Director have decided the best course of action is to have each participating alumnus purchase an annual Adult USA Lacrosse membership ($60). All the high school players are already required to be USA Lacrosse members, which among other things provides liability and accidental injury insurance. Having the alumni participants become USAL members would then provide the insurance the Board and Program Director deem necessary to continue hosting the event.

Alumni interested in stepping on the field and participating in the scrimmage are encouraged to:

2)        Join USA Lacrosse and purchase annual Adult Membership: https://www.usalacrosse.com/

3)        Email a copy of your membership confirmation to [email protected]

Without this insurance in place, we will not be able to host the scrimmage. Alumni and their families would still be invited to come the night of the 27^th and watch what would instead be the high school team’s last Fall practice and intra-squad scrimmage.
